Check Web-Based E-Mail on Your Cell PhoneYou don't need a smartphone to occasionally check Web-based e-mail programs such as AOL and Yahoo. Aug. 21, 2007
Did you know that you can check most Web-based e-mail programs on your cell phone? Its true. You dont even need to own a smartphone, such as a BlackBerry, a Treo, or a Windows Mobile device, to do it. All you really need is a cell phone, a data plan, and of course a Web-based e-mail account. When accessing Web-based e-mail, you typically have access to many of the features found in your online account, such as sent, new, and old e-mail, but you might not be able to access spam folders, address books, or saved messages. Additionally, you can use mobile e-mail applications on your phone just as you would on the computer. Youll be able to send new messages, as well as reply to existing and new ones. However, what you do in your mobile e-mail account affects your online computer-based account; if you read a message, it will appear as read when you access your account using a computer.
